Burner won't light at all
Usually a blocked injector jet, a failed ignition electrode, or an interrupted gas supply. On electric models it is more often the element or the switch behind the knob.
If your burner isn’t igniting, or you have a cold oven, you need a service technician who knows their way around gas and electric cookers – and is available to come to your home today. Mr. Appliance has been providing cooking range repair in Dubai for over a decade, with licensed gas engineers, genuine spare parts, and a fixed AED 150 inspection fee quoted before any work begins.
A cooking range has a lot of moving parts, and most failures trace back to one of a handful of components. These are the faults that bring our technicians out on a cooking range repair call week in, week out across Dubai.
Usually a blocked injector jet, a failed ignition electrode, or an interrupted gas supply. On electric models it is more often the element or the switch behind the knob.
Almost always a worn thermocouple. It is the safety device that holds the gas valve open, and it is one of the cheapest parts on the whole appliance to replace.
A healthy gas flame burns blue. Yellow or lifting flames point to a dirty burner cap, the wrong injector size, or an incorrect air-to-gas mixture — and they waste fuel every time you cook.
The spark module is working but the spark is not reaching the gas. Typically a wet or cracked electrode, a misaligned burner cap, or carbon build-up on the ignition tip.
On gas ovens, a failed oven thermocouple or a blocked burner. On electric ovens, a burnt-out heating element, a faulty thermostat, or a failed fan motor on convection models.
The convection fan motor bearing is the usual culprit. Left alone it will seize and take the fan blade and wiring with it, turning a small job into a large one.
The valve stem behind the knob has seized from grease ingress, or the knob collar has cracked. Both are straightforward if caught before the valve itself is damaged.
Stop using the range immediately, close the cylinder or isolation valve, ventilate the room, and call us. Do not operate switches. Suspected leaks go to the front of our queue.
Cooking ranges rarely fail all at once. They give warning signs first, and the cost of ignoring them is wildly disproportionate to the cost of an early cooking range repair.
A gas fault is a safety fault. A perished hose, a loose connection, or a failed thermocouple can allow unburnt gas into a closed kitchen. This is the one category where waiting is genuinely dangerous rather than merely expensive.
A failing element burns money every time you cook. An electric oven with a degraded element or a stuck thermostat draws full power while never reaching temperature. You pay DEWA for that electricity whether the food cooks or not.
Small parts protect expensive ones. A seized fan bearing left running will destroy the motor. A cracked knob collar left turning will wear the gas valve. In both cases an AED 60 part quietly becomes an AED 400 assembly.
Dubai kitchens are hard on appliances. Heavy year-round use, hard water in steam functions, and fine dust drawn through cooling vents all accelerate wear compared with a typical European kitchen. Ranges here simply need attention sooner.
Choosing who works on a gas appliance in your home matters more than it does for most repairs. Here is what you get with us.
Every engineer who works on gas for us is UAE-licensed for gas appliances and has a minimum of ten years' field experience in the Emirates. We do not subcontract the work out.
Bookings received before 12:00 noon are attended the same day in almost all cases. Suspected gas leaks are treated as priority and moved to the front of the queue regardless of when they come in.
Our technician diagnoses the fault and hands you a written quote before touching a spanner. If you decide not to proceed, you pay the inspection fee and nothing more. No pressure, no padding.
Replacement parts carry a 60-day guarantee and our workmanship is covered for 30 days. If the same fault returns inside that window, we come back and put it right at no charge.
We send you the engineer's name and mobile number before the visit, and he calls you directly ahead of arrival. No unannounced knocks and no anonymous vans outside your building.
We carry common thermocouples, injectors, electrodes and elements on the van. Brand-specific parts come through UAE distributors, typically within one to two working days.
Different range types fail in different ways and need genuinely different skills. We are equipped and licensed for all three, in both freestanding and built-in formats. Built-in units take longer because they need careful removal from the cabinetry and correct refitting afterwards — we handle the full job, including reconnection and a gas-tightness test on reinstall.
Burner assemblies, injector jets, ignition electrodes, spark modules, thermocouples, gas taps and regulators, and hose replacement. Every gas job we finish ends with a leak test before we leave.
Radiant and solid-plate elements, oven elements, thermostats, energy regulators, control knobs and switchgear, plus tripping and earth-fault diagnosis on the supply side.
Coil and inverter board diagnosis, touch-control panel faults, cooling fan replacement, and error-code troubleshooting on the sealed electronics that most general handymen won't attempt.
We repair the brands actually sold and used across the UAE, including older models that local agents no longer support.
No call centre queues and no vague four-hour windows.
Reach us on +971 56 382 9910 or send the online form. Tell us the brand, the fuel type, and what the range is actually doing.
Choose the day and time that suits you. We confirm the engineer's name and number, and he calls before he sets off to you.
A quick photo of the rating plate and the fault lets us load the right parts onto the van, which often turns two visits into one.
We cover the whole emirate. A few notes on what tends to differ by area, because it genuinely changes how a cooking range repair is approached.
Almost entirely piped natural gas in the towers here, which means building management approval is sometimes needed before we can isolate the supply. We handle that paperwork with the FM team on your behalf.
High-rise apartments with compact built-in ranges, often Bosch, Siemens or Teka. Access is usually via service lift, so we book a lift slot with concierge in advance where the building requires it.
Predominantly villas running on LPG cylinders. Regulator and hose faults are far more common here than in the towers, and both are parts we carry as standard on the van.
A lot of older freestanding ranges still in daily service. These are exactly the machines local agents no longer support, and they are usually very economical to keep running for years more.
A mix of villa and apartment stock plus a number of small commercial kitchens. We take light commercial work in this area alongside domestic units.
Established villa communities where ranges are typically five to fifteen years old — precisely the age at which thermocouples, igniters and oven elements start reaching end of life.
Most of the call-outs we attend were avoidable. These seven habits will meaningfully extend the life of your appliance and cut down how often you need us at all.
The inspection fee is AED 150 and covers the visit plus a full diagnosis. Beyond that, the cost depends entirely on the part involved. A thermocouple or igniter replacement sits at the low end, an oven element or gas valve in the middle, and a control board at the top. You receive a written quote before any work starts, and you are free to decline it.
Stop cooking and close the cylinder valve or the isolation tap at the wall. Open windows and doors. Do not operate any electrical switch, plug or appliance, and do not use your phone inside the room — step outside first. Then call us on +971 56 382 9910. If the smell is strong or persistent, contact Dubai Civil Defence on 997 before anything else.
Bookings placed before 12:00 noon are attended the same day in the large majority of cases, and later bookings are usually scheduled for the following morning. Most repairs are completed in a single visit lasting 45 to 90 minutes. If a brand-specific part has to be ordered, expect one to two additional working days.
Yes — gas, electric and induction, in both freestanding and built-in formats. Every gas cooking range repair is carried out by a UAE-licensed gas technician and finishes with a leak test before we leave the property.
Usually, yes. Cooking ranges are mechanically simple compared with most kitchen appliances, and the parts that commonly fail are inexpensive and readily available in the UAE. Our general rule is that if the cooking range repair comes to less than half the price of an equivalent new appliance, repairing is the better decision. We will tell you honestly when a machine is genuinely past economic repair.
Replacement parts carry a 90-day guarantee and our labour is covered for 30 days from the date of the repair. If the same fault reappears within those periods, we return and put it right at no additional charge. Keep your invoice as proof of the work carried out.
Licensed technicians, a fixed AED 150 inspection fee, and a written quote before any work begins. Call before noon and we will aim to be with you the same day, anywhere in Dubai.
