Clean the lint filter after every load.A clogged filter is the most common reason clothes take too long to dry, and trapped lint is the main cause of dryer fires.
Empty the water tank every cycle.On condenser and heat-pump dryers, a full tank stops the cycle. Empty it after each load so the dryer doesn’t cut out halfway.
Rinse the condenser or heat-pump filters.Rinse the condenser unit or secondary filter under running water about once a month. Dubai’s dust makes these clog faster than the manual suggests.
Keep the vent hose short and straight.On vented dryers, kinks and long runs trap lint and heat. Check the hose regularly and clear any blockage at the outlet.
Don’t overload the drum.Overloading strains the belt, rollers and motor and leaves clothes damp. Fill the drum no more than about three-quarters full.
Give the dryer space to breathe.Leave a gap around the back and sides, especially in small laundry cupboards, so the machine can release heat.
Call early when something changes.Longer drying times, new noises or a burning smell are early warnings. A repair at this stage costs far less than a new motor or heater later.
